Job Description

Volt has partnered with a multinational energy company in search of a Software Test Engineer.  We are looking for a passionate and skilled Software Developer in Test to help our client deliver a corporate IoT platform. We are seeking a talented ‘hands on’ engineer to join the growing Digital Services Transformation (DST) team in our Andover, MA office. 

The Software Developer in Test will be responsible for taking ownership of our internal testing framework, maintain and improve its capabilities. Provide helper libraries and guidance to fellow QA engineers. Verifying the successful integration testing of our Microsoft Azure Cloud platform. Also includes designing and developing integration tests for a distributed system, executing tests, trouble-shooting defects, and working with individual development teams to resolve issues. She/he will ensure best practices are followed while being responsive in a dynamic and iterative Agile development setting.

• Taking ownership of customized testing framework, improve its capabilities in C#
• Design and develop integration test helper libraries using C#/.NET framework
• Evaluate and recommend additional tools to increase productivity as necessary
• Perform full stack integration testing within our continuous integration/continuous deployment pipeline
• Work with individual development teams to resolve issues identified

Qualifications/Skills Required:
• At least 3-year experience with C#/.NET hands-on development
• Demonstrate strong knowledge in software quality testing principles, practices, and patterns
• Strong experience with RESTful API
• Working experience with MSTEST
• 2 years of experience in software integration testing
• Working experience with public cloud (Windows Azure, Amazon EC2, etc.)
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills, both written and oral
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

Qualifications/Skills Desired:
• Experience with Azure IaaS/PaaS (App Service, Worker Roles, Service Fabric, ServiceBus, Cloud Services, etc.) preferred
• Experience with MS Test and xUnit a plus
• Experience designing testing framework for large and complex platform service
• Experience with App Insights or any other APM is a plus
• Experience with PowerShell, Visual Studio a plus
• Experience with Elasticsearch is a plus
