Job Description

Are you looking for a dynamic mechanical design engineer professional with extensive SolidWorks experience located in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area? Do you have phenomenal communication skills and can offer creative ideas in a collaborative work environment? Do you obtain a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering? If you answered yes to these questions; you are the professional that Volt Workforce Solutions is in search for. Volt is in partnership with a great company that is in need of a SolidWorks Mechanical Engineer. This position is a long term contract opportunity that is located between Irving  and Fort Worth, Texas.


  • Proficiency in solid modeling software and data management – Solidworks, SAP/PLM
  • Minimum of 5 years in steel fabrication, metal casting, sheet metal, machined part, and plastic part design and fabrication. Street pole, pole base, and ornamental pole design is a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience involving the use of mechanical engineering principles and practices, as well as knowledge of typical manufacturing processes.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, an MS in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
  • Wireless telecommunications design experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and electronic power distribution systems.Working knowledge of optical path mechanical systems.


  • Work with Integrated Solutions Product Line Managers to create high value customer proposals.
  • Assist PLM in the generation of new product ideas driven by customer feedback and market trends.
  • Lead and create designs of complex wireless systems and generate associated product assembly drawings/documentation for manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing during the design cycle to optimize design for assembly.
  • Collaborate with mechanical; structural and thermal design engineers of the wireless solutions.
  • Develop the Integrated product portfolio with design enhancements and cost optimization.
  • Develop product bills of material and oversee product BOM loading into SAP.
  • Work closely with other Business Units to optimize the integration of their products into new wireless systems.
  • Travel to factory locations to introduce new product designs into manufacturing, and assist with the development of factory assembly work instructions.
