This Direct Hire Opportunity is For the Dallas, TX Area!

A growing building products company is in need of a SQL Developer for their office in Texas. The SQL Developer will report to the Enterprise Data Architect and will be responsible for developing applications and integrations using the Microsoft SQL Server platform. This will include reports, data warehousing tasks and other data related tasks. This position requires excellent communication, technical and task management skills.

Summary of Essential Functions:
Work with all levels of development from analysis through implementation and support.  Specifically, you will be doing the following;

  • Interact with report owners to establish/clarify their requirements and develop report specifications.
  • Ensure that the code is written to avoid potential blocking or deadlocking.
  • Ensure that the code is written keeping in mind any security issues.
  • Perform quality checks on reports to ensure exceptional quality and performance.
  • Develop new SSRS packages to meet business needs.
  • Design, Develop and Deploy SSIS Packages.
  • Create functions to provide custom functionality as per business requirements.
  • Create database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, triggers, etc.
  • Identify columns for Primary Keys in all the tables at the design time and create them.
  • Create Entity Relationship (ER) Diagrams.
  • Maintain referential integrity, domain integrity and column integrity by using the available options such as constraints etc.
  • Participate in development and creation of data warehouses.
  • Maintain and enhance the existing data warehouse, exports, and reports.
  • Create and maintain development documentation.

Technical skills and experience required for this position will include: 

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2017 server-side development including (SSIS, SSRS, SSMS).
  • T-SQL (Transact SQL) Stored Procedures and Triggers.
  • The ideal candidate should possess some database administrative experience.
  • Skilled at optimizing large complicated SQL statements.
  • PowerBI and experience with O365 and cloud implementations a plus!
  • .NET development experience helpful.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related field and five years relevant SQL development experience; or ten years relevant SQL development experience; or suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.
  • Administrative and development experience with SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014, 2017.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, management, and external partners.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Licenses & certifications would be a plus.
