Job Description

Are you a Business Intelligence Developer with 5+ years industry experience? Do you have extensive experience developing SQL Server databases, creating SSRS reports, extracting data using SSIS, dash boards, and coding complex queries? Are you a person with good documentation, communication and personal skills that is looking to work in a collaborative work in environment? If so, Volt Workforce Solutions has a great opportunity for you located in a suburb that is Southwest Houston, Texas.

Our client is looking for a BI Report Developer to help deliver reporting solutions to support custom client requests, standard CLS product implementations (CLSLiNK), and internal reporting projects.  The hired BI developer will be involved in all aspects of database development and reporting. In addition, he/she will be responsible for coding complex SQL programs and supporting a wide variety of reports, scorecards, and dashboards for multiple client needs (both internal and external).


  • 5+ years SQL programming in Enterprise database environment; MS SQL Server or Oracle databases.
  • Highly proficient with SQL object creation including views, SPs, functions, tables, etc. in Enterprise database environment; MS SQL Server or Oracle databases.
  • Proficient SSRS Report Manger (setup, configuration, deployment of Reports, Permissions) skills.
  • Highly proficient with Enterprise reporting tool(s) - preferably SSRS
  • Reporting development and custom SQL generation in SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012, and/or 2016 environment
  • Experience in building data repositories and writing queries, stored procedures and views for Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence (Not Required but Preferred)
  • Experience using source control (TFS or other source control tools)
  • Experience reviewing Query performance and optimizing code in Enterprise database environment; MS SQL Server or Oracle database.
  • Experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
  • Exposure to Visual Studio and SSMS (SQL Server Mgmt. Studio) or equivalent tools
  • Knowing when to use Bar Charts vs Line Charts.
  • When to use KPI vs some other visualization
  • Develop deep understanding of CLSLiNK data model to effectively make recommendations on solutions for implementation of reports.
  • Ability to troubleshoot data issues and bugs within SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, etc.
