Senior Commercial Business Development Manager (Austin & Houston, Texas)

This company located in Portland, Oregon which is a leading supplier of small, rugged, and modular networking solutions primarily to the DoD is seeking an International Sales Manager for a full-time, direct opportunity. The company’s 400 series product line has become a ‘de-facto’ standard for deployed IP communications in the US Army and USMC.

 A series of wins over the last 3 years has resulted in significant growth in this business. Primary duties include identification, qualification, and capture activities associated with developing business in new markets for the company with a focus on Oil/Gas, Mining and Rail.

Individual will have business development objectives associated and consistent with company strategic objectives and core skills, and be able to demonstrate experience in finding and winning new work. Individual should have a strong technical software and data networking background and knows how to articulate the Company’s value propositions. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in business, engineering or technical discipline. 10 - 12 years of experience that includes business development, marketing research, and technical sales.

Prior employment as Business Development Manager or higher in a large successful enterprise is a requirement. •Accuracy and attention to detail is a must. Must be able to self-organize workloads and manage all deadlines. Business Development experience selling into Oil and Gas, Transportation or Mining markets is desired. Working knowledge of voice, network, data, security products and solutions is preferred. Applicant will identify opportunities and develop and execute a Capture Plan and lead the capture plan execution.

Individual will be accountable for new commercial business results, developing and maintaining client/potential client and industry partner relationships, and identifying and pursuing multiple marketing opportunities. The applicant will have the ability to present the company technical capabilities during marketing events and formal and informal customer presentations. Applicant must have a demonstrated track record of successful revenue growth via identification, capture planning, proposal development, and subsequent contract awards. Applicant must show evidence of good business judgment and the capability to structure business deals and teaming agreements with minimal oversight. Applicant must have established relationships in the Oil/Gas and/or Mining business communities. Experience in developing business/selling networking and communications systems into these markets is preferred. The applicant must be able to form a solid team with other department leads and their staff. Characteristics necessary for success include: analytical, presentation, and problem

solving skills; the ability to gain internal support; to operate independently without supervision or feedback; and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with customers, technical staff, managers and peers. The applicant must possess reasoning and problem solving skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. The applicant must also possess a proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including word processing, spreadsheets, graphics applications and electronic mail programs.
