Job Description

Sr. Control Engineer

This person will be responsible to develop the control system for hot runner used in plastic injection molding machine. Particular emphasis will be on the system analysis, performance requirements development, control integration and tuning.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop control system requirements within the context of product performance.
  • Analyze control system performance in both time and frequency domains.
  • Develop system identification to create plant models that are under control, such as sensor, actuator, motors etc.
  • Implement and simulate the control in Matlab/Simulink.
  • Validate control system in MIL/SIL and HIL environments.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum B.S. in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering with 5+ years of design experience
  • Experience in full cycle of complex control system development for linear and nonlinear systems
  • Developer-level proficiency in Simulink and MATLAB, including scripting, modeling and auto coding
  • Experience in control system V&V methods such as unit testing, system simulation, hardware-in-loop testing and integrated validation
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal oversight

Desired:

  • Demonstrated knowledge in both classical and modern control design
  • Demonstrated knowledge in optimal control and estimation (e.g. Kalman Filtering)
  • Demonstrated knowledge in real-time embedded system and software.
  • Familiarity with DOORs Next Generation (DNG) or similar requirements management systems; Atlassian JIRA or similar issue tracking systems; Apache Subversion or Github or similar revision control systems
