Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a client located in Tacoma, WA. This is a direct-hire role. We are among the largest IT recruitment firms in the US for contingent/temporary and direct hire placements and support most of the top-rated IT companies in the Pacific Northwest.

The DevOps Engineer strategically spins-up, configures, manages, and spins-down environments from development through integration, UAT, and performance testing, as well as overseeing and resolving constraints in the build, test, and deploy pipeline to production.


  • Cloud, AWS migration solutions, define, implement, test and maintain infrastructure in AWS Cloud, Azure, DevOps methodology, continuous integration       
  • Use build and release automation tools (Artifactory, Chef, Docker, DynamoDB, Elastic Load Balancers, GIT, Jenkins, Kracken, Kubernetes, Lambda, Maven, MSBuild, Octopus, Rancher, Rally, ReadyRoll, Redgate, and VMware) to deliver timely builds and deployments to development, integration and user testing labs
  • Automate deployments using PowerShell and command line scripting
  • Deploy and automate infrastructure/applications in a cloud environment
  • Work with development, QA, product management, and production Ops teams to deliver on-time and high-quality deployments
  • Deploy and automate infrastructure/applications in cloud environments
  • Work closely with Development, QA, Product Management, and Production Ops teams to make sure Product Releases are high-quality and on-time
  • Experience with Agile frameworks
  • Release automation, problem-solving skills, and ability to follow through to completion


  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of DevOps or software engineering experience
  • Knowledge managing and troubleshooting the following platforms: UNIX, Windows 2008/2012/2016 SQL servers, Windows work stations and terminal services, and IIS/ TCP/IP network protocols
  • Understanding of the Agile framework
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS & Azure)
  • Familiarity with ASP, C#, HTML, JavaScript, .NET, or SQL
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with business stakeholder contacts
  • Familiarity with server and application monitoring tools
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities, knowledge of change management, and experience implementing new process/technology to standardize operations.
  • Shell scripting using PowerShell, Perl or other language
