Job Description

VOLT Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a seasoned Sr. Director Information. Security. Manages those who ensure the security of company electronic information and the creation of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.  Establishes security systems to prevent others from infiltrating company information or jeopardizing e-commerce programs. Establishes appropriate firewall standards and criteria. Designs and implements security policies to control access to systems. Develops and implements standards for appropriate security checkpoints and encryption methods. Assesses the impact on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration, or denial of access to information. Conducts risk assessments to evaluate potential threats to business viability, information security/recovery, and physical security. Identifies/defines critical systems and time-sensitive business areas and assesses potential business impacts. Recommends recovery strategies and develops solutions for executive consideration. Documents and updates policies, procedures and training programs. May develop and/or facilitate testing scenarios.  Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

The manager is required to have a strong technical proficiency in this domain in order to best understand how it fits within IT, how it supports the business, and how best to manage the team of individual contributors. This position is also responsible for managing the work environment, identifying workforce needs and ensuring performance against corporate manager expectations, values and vision.

Responsibilities:

SCOPE: Establishes operational objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to subordinate managers.  Senior management reviews objectives to determine success of operation. Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations(s) and may also have company-wide effect.

JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives, as well as an understanding of company “politics.” Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements. 

INTERACTION: Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship.

SUPERVISION: Manages activities of two or more sections or departments through subordinate managers who exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing. In some instances this manager may be responsible for managing staff function and may not have subordinate managers.
