Job Description

VOLT is seeking an individual to fill a position as an Embedded LINUX Developer with a local company in Greater Seattle. This is a full-time position with full benefits including an outstanding health package.

Embedded Linux Developer with strong Firmware experience to join a small team. 

In this role, the individual must be familiar developing software/firmware for Embedded Linux, RTOS based microcontrollers, and bare-metal microcontrollers. The candidate has experience with Cortex-M processors, preferably STM32, and Cortex-A processors. The ideal candidate has the skills to support both firmware and embedded software development. The individual will work collaboratively within cross-functional teams that include Mechanical, Electrical, R&D, and Quality Engineers, SDETs, Product and Project Managers.

Requirements
• 8+ years of software development experience
• Strong proficiency with C on resource constrained systems
• Proficiency with modern C++ (e.g. C++11 standard)
• Strong background in Embedded Linux, board support packages, and driver integration
• Ability to read schematics and datasheets to assist in system architecture and firmware development
• Experience with peripheral busses such as I2C, SPI, UART or CAN, and writing drivers for peripherals
• Experience with board bring-up and hardware debugging using lab bench equipment such as serial analyzers and oscilloscopes
• Solid software development fundamentals such as unit testing, build automation, branch-based development and modern documentation practices
• Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar field from an accredited University is required

Desired
• Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems for microcontrollers, particularly FreeRTOS
• Experience with distributed software architectures and developing independent application services on Linux
• Experience integrating products with manufacturing Automated Test Equipment for Calibration procedures
• Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy
