Sr. Test Engineering Technician (Direct-hire)
Madison, WI

2nd shift/*training on 1st shift*

This position is responsible for developing and supporting test engineering hardware and software test technologies to help ensure our company builds a quality product. Other responsibilities for this position include the ability to assist or lead in the development, documentation, and build of manufacturing test equipment and processes, the set up and maintenance of the test engineering labs, and to provide troubleshooting support as needed to manufacturing line personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Trouble shoot product to root cause level and coordinate effective repair of production unit. Help drive corrective action by documenting work instruction and give feedback to assembly operator.
  • Support test equipment and sub-assembly test equipment on multiple production lines.
  • Perform training of new test operators on existing test equipment.
  • Track issues with the test equipment on the production lines.
  • Propose and implement solutions to problems with the test equipment on the lines.
  • Oversee lab equipment, tools, and workspaces.

Qualifications:

  • Associates or better in Electrical Engineering or related field. High School or better.
  • Electrical basic understanding, ability to decipher technical manuals & blue prints, computer training.
  • 3-7 Years’ experience in a Manufacturing Quality / Test Engineering related field.
  • An Associate’s Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (preferred).
  • Computer training. Some knowledge of software such as Excel, Word, Auto Cad, Visio and others (preferred).
  • Familiarity with product testing, trouble shooting, repair and electrical circuits.
  • On the job experience with Test Equipment. Being able to read schematics, understanding of electricity, willingness to learn and the ability to work without a lot of instruction. The most important aspect is the willingness to adapt and learn new things.
