Sr. Field Service Engineer

Who can commit to a full-time schedule, mostly consisting of travel within North America and assisting with customer support.

Engineer can be located anywhere in the US with a reasonable airport hub and well-equipped home office. 

Looking for an experienced and advanced field service engineer to work with our sales/service organization.  This person will install machines for laser plastic welding in the automotive, medical and consumer electronics industries.  Integrating these systems with full production lines and automation systems.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Installation, maintenance and repair of laser welding equipment. 
  • Must be an effective phone and email communicator with an attention to detail.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical, electronics and mechanics.
  • Must demonstrate high skill level of reading various technical documentation (i.e. Schematics, Data Sheets, and Test Procedures).
  • Understanding PLCs, HMI interfaces, discreet I/O, analogs, communications items such as Ethernet, Profibus, etc. a plus.
  • Possess an advanced level of understanding of Analog and Digital circuitry.
  • Computer literacy is a must.


  • Automation engineering degree, Technical School or equivalent work experience.
  • Practical experience in Automation processes, setup and troubleshooting.

Physical/Work Environments

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally lift 50 pounds.
  • Squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching overhead, reaching forward may occur while on the job.
  • Air travel, rental car and hotel stays.
