Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions Group is currently seeking Sr. Hardware Installation Engineers in Richardson, TX. This is a contract role with a high profile DOD/Aerospace leader. The selected candidate must possess an Active Top Secret/SCI level clearance. W2 only. C2C will not be accepted.

 Job Description: 
The qualified candidates will support hardware and cable plant installation activities in an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environment. Duties will include, but not be limited to: 
- Support of factory hardware rack, component and cable installation 
- Creation and installation of cable labels 
- Provide build and test team factory support 
- Factory hardware teardown and packing in support of shipment to site 
- Support of site hardware rack, component and cable installation 
- Perform and document hardware audits 
- Generation of facility and hardware documentation 
o Facility datasheets 
o Site floorplans 
o Rack elevation drawings 
o Cable lists 

The successful candidate will also be able to coordinate with government and internal customers to validate and provide status of deployment progress, track and solve problems, and develop solutions as issues arise. A Top Secret/SCI clearance is required as of day one for this position.

Required Skills:

• Working knowledge of COTS hardware (servers, storage, network)

• Knowledgeable of hardware rack component installation design standards

• Proficient in hardware component installation in racks

• Skilled in cable plant installation and dress-out

• Good command of MS Word and Excel

• Experience creating datacenter drawing artifacts using MS Visio

• Ability to travel (50% or more, 1-3 weeks at a time)

• Able to lift hardware components (up to 50#)

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required with current (< 5 yrs) CI Poly

• Strong team player

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Intelligence Community (IC) Agency mission, processes and facilities Required Education: Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 4 years of related work experience or 12 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline
