Job Description

Position Summary:

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for architecting, delivering, safeguarding, and supporting a global infrastructure within the following core functions: LAN/WAN/WLAN, internet, remote access, firewalls, proxy, DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM), NAC, business partner access, and cloud-based networking implementations.

The global infrastructure team is distributed across North America and Europe and operates a follow-the-sun support model providing 24x7 advanced level support.

Essential Functions of this role:

  • Design and support internal network (Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco Switches, VMWare, Dell EMC/Unity)
  • Ensure network redundancy, reliability
  • Network monitoring
  • Monitor cybersecurity threats and respond in a timely manner
  • Develops and updates information security policies and procedures.
  • Hands on expert knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, HSRP)
  • Work with external vendors to design and support the external Wide Area Network (WAN).
  • Architect security solutions to minimize threats to infrastructure and data
  • Proactively identify, manage and extinguish security threats
  • Ensure key servers have appropriate up-times and are monitored with appropriate alerting systems
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving Infrastructure policies and procedures
  • Support ecommerce team with Domain Registrar and DNS changes
  • Support desktop usage both internally and remotely
  • Support and improve IP based phone system (ShoreTel/Amazon Connect)
  • Work with internal and external resources
  • Work with outsourced teams to co-ordinate and manage support

General Duties:

  • Complete Firewall changes with security in mind
  • Complete tickets within SLA using KACE ticketing system
  • Validate backup completion and test restores using Veeam
  • Collaborate with other teams when needed
  • Monitor systems and network alerts using WhatsUpGold
  • Maintain FTP changes in Cerberus
  • Act as an escalation point for helpdesk team

Requirements:

  • Candidate requires 12+ years of technical network and security experience
  • CCNA required
  • Bachelor’s degree and / or CCNP preferred
  • Ability to manage both technology and people
  • At least 3+ years’ experience with VMWare and Hyper-V technology
  • At least 7+ years’ experience with Windows Server 2008-2016
  • At least 3+ years’ experience with Linux Server Preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Dell EMC/Unity SAN technology (or similar)

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to work more than 8 hours during a workday
  • Significant manual dexterity for keying in data for long periods of time

Travel:

  • This job generally has some travel locally and internationally
