Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is currently recruiting for a Senior Network Security Engineer for a position that we have open in Aurora, CO.  Individual will be responsible for performing security engineering tasks on an array of network devices including conducting security testing, analyzing test results, and developing risk assessment reports. He/she will support the team that conducts security engineering and federal security compliance activities during the operations and maintenance of the GPS-OCX systems – the ground station for the next generation GPS constellation.  
Responsibilities for this position will include the following:?

• Performs security engineering tasks related to routers, switches, firewalls, timing devices, and various other network devices

• Providing support for technical implementation of security solutions comprised of COTS, FOSS, and custom products 

• Evaluating deployed security solutions comprised of COTS and custom products 

• Preparing for, supporting and/or leading security test & evaluation activities for verification of security related requirements 

• Applying knowledge of current IA policies and best practices to support the architecture and design of secure solutions to customer needs and requirements 

• Reviewing and documenting compliance with security directive assessments 

• Preparing for, writing, and presenting trade studies, cost benefit analyses, reports and briefings as required

Qualified candidates will have the following education/experience to be considered:

Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 4 years of related work experience OR 12 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline

• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Current Security+ certification) 

• Demonstrable in-depth expertise with administration of Cisco network devices

• Experience on cyber security engineering projects and programs for U.S. Government and/or commercial clients

• 4 years of technical experience in cyber security to include best practices/methodologies, technologies, system design, and/or experience in an operational environment

• Ability to work collaboratively across traditional engineering disciplines

• Must be a self-starter capable of multitasking and efficient time management in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision

• Practical experience with hardening IT systems to be verifiably compliant with STIG guidelines

• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, with short notification

• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, with short notification 

Experience with one or more of the following:

• Linux systems administration • Windows system administration • COTS product security • Use of Nessus and/or Security Center vulnerability assessment tools • Operating System hardening • Vulnerability Assessment documentation (tool findings review, mitigation/justification)

Desired Skills:

• Experience with and technical knowledge of satellite ground systems, including hardware, software, and communications architecture

• CISSP certification

• Six Sigma certification
