Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a Sr. Level Sheet Metal Designerfor a leading manufacture of an established design/build/maintain mechanical firm.   This is a direct, career opportunity located in Westminster, CO. 

Responsibilities:

Operate Autocad and/or Revit with Autodesk Fabrication to prepare detailed HVAC models and drawings for fabrication and installation from engineered construction documents.  Review models from all trades for coordination purposes.

A successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Prepare detailed sheet metal drawings for fabrication and installation
  • Communicate with Field Managers to ensure project design requirements and field needs are met
  • Attend and effectively participate in coordination meetings both in house and with project teams
  • Follow MTech Mechanical detailing CAD standards
  • Understand and establish positive and functional job relationships
  • Effectively participate on MTech Mechanical team to satisfy the customer’s needs
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Involved in assisting detailers to gain knowledge of the 3d coordination process
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualified candidates will possess the following education and experience:

  • 5 years of work experience in creating detailed sheet metal fabrication and installation drawings, with a 2 year degree preferred. 
  • Autocad experience required, Autodesk Fabrication experience preferred
  • Revit and Navisworks knowledge preferred
  • Accurate evaluation of structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems
  • Duct sizing capability for low pressure and medium pressure systems
  • Knowledge of SMACNA duct construction standards
  • Must be self-motivated and work well in a team environment
  • General computer software knowledge, including Microsoft Office, Word, Xcel and Bluebeam
  • AutoCAD MEP with Fabrication
    • This is the main platform used currently and the candidate needs to be somewhat proficient in CADmep.  The user must be able to do the following:
      • Draw either HVAC with the intent for pre-fabrication.
      • Create detail drawings for field install or fabrication.
      • Dimension floor plans with specifications listed.
  • Revit
    • Would also like to add a HVAC Revit user to the mix.  They must be able to use CADmep (fabrication) parts in Revit to create models for coordination as well as create detail drawings for field installation.
    • The user must be able to do the following:
      • Set up sheets for floors and details.
      • Draw in Revit with the purpose of fabrication and use manufacturer content.
      • Dimension floor plans with specifications listed.
      • Set up filters and restrictions within Revit
