SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

This is an estimated 6 months contingent/temporary position in Tacoma, WA and is offered through Volt Workforce Solutions. We are among the largest staffing companies in the US for contingent/temporary and direct hire placements, and support many of the top rated Pacific Northwest companies.

The Senior Software Developer is part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining business critical applications that facilitate the ability to dispatch and pay a temporary workforce throughout the United States. This role works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Responsible for resolving a wide range of issues; applies company policy and procedure; uses established SDLC/Scrum methodology; assists team members to do the same.

* Assist in gathering requirements, develop technical documentation, modify existing programs or formulate logic for new systems.

* Develop, modify, debug and evaluate programs for functional areas, including but not limited to Finance, Human Resources, Operations and Marketing.

* Devise logic procedures, perform coding and unit test, and debug programs.

* Prepare and/or review system and programming documentation.

* Understand and follow TBI architecture and development standards.

* Work effectively in an agile team environment.

* Follow through with commitments and foster mutual trust with team members and fellow employees. Assist all team members to meet their commitments.

* Proactively manage work load and consult with the Lead Software Developer or supervisor when matters of work prioritization arise.

* Consult with and take direction from the Application Architect when implementing strategic policies and selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

* Consult with the Lead Software Developer or Application Architect on very complex tasks or the design of new systems.

* Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

 * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.

* 5+ years of related development experience.

* Requires the ability to change the thinking of or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations while preserving the relationship.

* A good understanding of Scrum and familiarity with Continuous Integration/Delivery (CI/CD).

* Ability to achieve goals with minimal supervision.

* Ability to work with cross functional groups to achieve results.

* Ability to appropriately prioritize multiple tasks.

* Ability to work quickly to develop proof of concept projects with minimal requirements specified up front.

* Ability to develop applications in a modern web language (angular.js, react, etc)

* Some experience developing on the Saleforce.com platform a plus.
