Job Description

Volt has an opening for a Senior Software Engineer in Rancho Cordova, CA for a 6-month position for someone with Backend API/web services, javascript and JS frameworks, Java and Spring experience. Angular, spring boot, JAX-RS and struts are a huge plus. In this position, you will:

  • Utilize user stories to develop technical requirements
  • Generate design and development plan
  • Provide technical leadership to coworkers throughout coding and project progression
  • Provide descriptive technical visual program specifications
  • Participate in coding, testing, through implementation within an agile environment, ensuring all designs are maintainable, and in accordance with GTS technology architecture, hardware, cross environments, and aid to achieve the future technological vision
  • Determine root cause for the most complex software issues
  • Modify and maintain existing systems for adaptation to business changes
  • Conduct system analysis, and contribute to system planning operations
  • Mentor Software Engineers
  • Adhere to architectural guidelines, standards and delivery discipline processes
  • Interact and effectively communicate with business partners and other GTS staff
  • Determine process improvements, best practices, and develop new processes as deemed necessary
  • Drive constructive change and provide leadership

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of programming experience
  • Advanced programming experience in current programming language
  • You MUST have at least 5 years experience with Backend API/web services, javascript and JS frameworks, Java, Spring to be considered
  • STRONGLY desired skills are Angular, spring boot, JAX-RS, struts.
  • Broad experience designing, programming, and implementing large information systems
  • Ability to independently provide in   depth evaluation and analysis of unique complex technological issues
  • Provide detailed evaluations and practical solutions that take into account all dynamic intangible factors to obtain functional results
  • Independently determine procedures for new technological processes or special assignments
  • Excellent analytical and problem - solving skills for even complex problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to employees of all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to direct others to optimal outcomes
