Job Description

Our client, a major defense/technology company, is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer for their location in Indianapolis.  This position involves working in a team environment in support of several programs, with responsibilities in all phases of Systems development (hardware/software) including concept development, requirements, functional analysis, design reviews, implementation, test, verification and validation.  Applicants selected must have ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform systems engineering activities in support of on-going programs
  • Work with external industry and Govt. stakeholders in the resolution of engineering issues
  • Develop and maintain requirements for systems and subsystems
  • Prepare for and conduct design reviews
  • Work in an IPT in the development of defense equipment and products

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in relevant discipline
  • Eight (8+) years demonstrated experience in systems engineering, software/hardware engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Knowledge of the following systems engineering functions:  CONOPS development; Requirements development and management; System architecture and design; Interface definition and control; Integration and test to include test planning and procedure development
  • Demonstrated understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle in support of software/hardware development, avionics systems development or sustainment activities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with requirements management using DOORS or similar requirements management tool
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering using UML/SysML and Rhapsody or Magic Draw
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle models (waterfall and Agile) and program lifecycle modes
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence
  • Simulation experience using C++ and Python
