VOLT’s client is looking for a project proven Sr. UI Engineer to join their Enterprise Development team!

This is an estimated 6+ contract (possibility to convert) position for one of the premier employers in the Portland, OR area! Our client’s Enterprise Product Development team is looking for an ambitious Sr. UI Engineer.  The hired Sr. UI Engineer will actively learn, demonstrate, and foster company culture in all actions and words.  This position will deliver functional requirements and technical solutions by coordinating with product owners, project teams, and IT cross-functional groups.  This position is responsible for specifying, designing, developing, testing, and documenting internal and external software with minimal direction.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum 6-10 years of proven UI development experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience using Angular 2 (or higher) to develop enterprise web applications.  Experience with mobile development and other JavaScript Frameworks (e.g. Ember.js, React, etc.) a plus.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Ajax, and jQuery in web application development.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience interacting with RESTful Web Services.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Web Applications, Web Services, SOA development, Version Control System, Visual Studio .NET, and programming for the .NET platform.
  • Experience interacting with SQL databases, including complex queries, advanced stored procedure development, and user-defined functions.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in unit testing (including .NET and JavaScript).  Extensive knowledge using Jasmine and Karma preferred.
  • Experience in Agile Development practices, analytical and conceptual thinking, problem-solving and troubleshooting.  Ability to operate at a high level of independence utilizing advanced organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Experience with E-commerce applications and high-availability design patterns.
  • Ability to articulate engineering design strategies related to scalability, performance, security, usability, and development platforms.

What the day to day will look like:

  • Develop, design, and modify custom UI applications across the full stack of Microsoft technologies.
  • Develop solutions for new features as well as modifications of existing features in an existing custom application.
  • Troubleshoot existing issues and provide solutions to remediate.
  • Create and document program development, logic, coding, and corrections.
  • Work collaboratively with QA Engineers and 3rd-Party engineers through participation in the testing process and review of QA documentation.  Consult during document planning and design stage.
  • Assist in solving operating problems.  Recreate steps taken by user to locate source of problem and rewrite program to correct errors.  Oversee installation of software and provide technical assistance to application engineers for install and test program then monitor performance of application after implementation.
  • Follow and implement compliance standards and procedures.
  • Take initiative and set a positive example for other team members.
  • Partner with internal and external customers or representatives to understand their desires, goals, and requirements.
  • Partner with IT management to focus development efforts toward meeting corporate goals and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist operations by acting as an application expert for advanced troubleshooting.
