Seeking an IC Design Engineer for the Integrated Circuit Design Department with a dynamic medical device company in the Houston area.  Will make contributions IC design for general purpose blocks for Neuro Technology and other products, including IP level circuit development, circuit verification and circuit design and simulation, layout floor-planning, and documentation. 


  • Design and Verification of mixed-signal IC functional IP blocks for implantable medical products
  • Involvement/leadership in all aspects of IC design including concept/specification development, design partitioning, block level design, detailed circuit design, circuit simulation, layout floor-planning, transistor level layout, bench verification and testing, test-vector development, and documentation
  • Design of very low-power, low-voltage analog IC functional blocks including voltage/current references, operational amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits (amplifiers, filters, charge pumps, etc.), ADCs and DACs, oscillators, switching power circuits, etc.
  • Use of MatLab to perform theoretical analysis of behavioral level and system level design ideas for mixed signal circuits and systems including circuit implementation
  • Collaboration with other members of the IC design group and teams in other design centers


  • BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering with 5-10 years’ experience in mixed analog/digital IC design is preferred.
  • Experience with the use of Cadence tools like Analog Artist, AMS/WREAL modeling, Spectre/RF, and Xcelium DMS simulation tools is highly desired.
  • Experience with the use of Cadence Verilog (XL/NC), Virtuoso/XL layout, PVS Verification/extraction tools and other system simulation tools and timing analysis tools will be beneficial.
  • Some knowledge or experience in system level simulation and other synthesis products are added benefits
  • Skills are in the areas of neuro stimulation design are highly desirable, along with skills in power management circuit design for Ultra Low power architectures.   Architectural tradeoffs in mixed signal design including design of power regulation and optimization skills are essential
  • Must be able to travel internationally and domestically, less than 15% of the time
