Job Description

**W2 ONLY OPPORTUNITY**

Are you a Software Developer with a strong background in SQL Server and web application development?  Do you have experience developing web applications in the defense or aerospace industries?  Are you proficient with Java, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript?  If so, then you may be the candidate we are looking for!

Our client, a leader in government services and IT support, is seeking an experienced SW Developer to support their LITES II Team at the NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA.  The selected candidate will join a software development team of approximately 12 members in this ONSITE SIX (6) month temp-to-hire opportunity and provide support for NASA’s Scientific and Technical Information (STI) program which supports all 10 NASA centers, at the Langley Research Center, within the Office of the Chief Information Officer.  The documents come from a collection point of views from various sources and the Developer will support ALL the processes.  He or she will need to get the documents in the production system.  Once the documents are in the workflow, they are categorized.  The documents will go to the delivery system where the information is disseminated to end-users.  The Developer will support some of this activity.  The position includes the development of web applications used by the STI program to manage the STI document repository for end users to search for and order STI technical documents, and to ingest and process technical documents.

Initially, the Developer will attend meetings to understand the requirements, will work with other teams, and possibly interact weekly with the customer.  Once the team has the the potential requirements, they meet to understand the requirements.  The team uses JIRA and has a set development requirement where Angular is used.  The successful candidate will need to have a SQL Server background and experience with Java for they are not taking over existing applications, they are taking any new requirements that are coming in.  The Developer will be given guidance as to how the development works.  Regular meetings during the week are held to guide the Developer through the process initially.  The Developer will have demos before putting the application out for user testing.  Once this is complete, there are no additional requirements, and the Developer pushes the application out to production.

**Please note that REMOTE work is allowed ONLY during inclement weather on occasions.
