Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to work onsite at John Deere’s facility in Carbon Cliff, IL. This is a contingent position expected to last 1 year.   

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural and durability analyses of complex systems including complete harvesting machine structures.
  • Work closely with global design teams to provide solutions for structural and durability issues for harvesting equipment, documenting methodologies used, writing reports and providing design direction in early stages of development.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Mechanical, Agricultural, or Engineering Mechanics + 2years of experience using FEA tools for structural analysis of systems under mechanical loads including preprocessing, communicating results to design teams, collaborating to resolve structural issues and generating reports.
  • Proficiency in Abaqus and Hyperworks tools (Hyperview/Hypermesh).
  • Demonstrated experience in performing fatigue analysis of mechanical systems under mechanical loading.
  • Preferred experience using analysis tools for large structures and weldments in the mobility, off-road or agricultural industry.
