Job Description

Volt Engineering is currently looking for an experienced Supply Quality Engineer. This candidate will be responsible for the overall quality, working with suppliers/providers to improve performance by facilitating problem solving, implementing process controls, and developing quality assurance plans.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Establish short and long-term supplier quality goals.
  • Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Work with purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain and update critical supplier audit system and schedule.
  • Assist Manufacturing and Engineering in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials following a defined new product development process.
  • Development / Improvement of Supplier measurement systems.
  • Evaluation of Supplier parts approval process, First Article reports and test data
  • Develop and own Supplier Quality scorecards including key metrics such as, KPI’s, PPM defect rate, Supplier Quality effectiveness, and Corrective & Preventative Actions.
  • Source Inspection of critical components to print / standard requirements at Sub-Tier Suppliers.
  • Provide technical expertise to Customers / Suppliers in solving quality or technical problems.
  • Must be able to travel internationally

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Engineering or similar technical degree
  • 3 years’ experience working in a Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, or Sourcing environment.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or equivalent
  • Experience as an auditor working with ISO 9001 standards Process Audits (minimum of 2 years).
  • Experience with 8D (RCCA) 5 Why’s and/or effective problem-solving models.
  • Experience using Control Plan, PFMEA, PDCA and SIPOC methods
  • Knowledge of protrusion processes a plus.
  • Experience working with plastic, composites and fiberglass in a manufacturing environment.
