IT Supplier Specialist

This is an estimated 3 month temporary position, in Portland, OR and is offered through Volt Workforce Solutions. We are among the largest staffing companies in the US for contingent/temporary and direct hire placements, and support many of the top rated Pacific Northwest companies.

The IT Supplier Specialist will have responsibilities for supporting the IT Supplier Management team in performing activities in the strategic sourcing process which includes collaborating with external/internal clients to execute sourcing strategies, analyzing spend and suppliers as well as facilitating contract execution. This position will work directly with business and technology owners to execute activities managed by the IT Supplier Management team. Effective communication, reporting and stakeholder coordination are essential delivery elements to ensure client satisfaction, team member satisfaction and financial success.


  • Support IT Supplier Managers with one to two of the following: contract routing, asset management, invoice approvals and IT supplier operations.
  • Leverages contract standards and templates for use by IT
  • Coordinates contract reviews
  • Review activity content for accuracy, standards and completion with focus on attention to details
  • Report on cost savings to IT
  • Follows the strategic direction set by management when establishing near term goals.
  • Acts independently to execute according to methods and procedures on new assignments.
  • Facilitates proactive renewal management and negotiations


  • Knowledge of IT Procurement Strategy, Processes and Tools.
  • Exposure to IT contract and sourcing.
  • Proficient in the use of MS SharePoint, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in process improvement
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and language related to supplier agreements.
  • Effective project management skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to effectively adapt to new scenarios and changes.
  • Promote corporate objectives and change initiatives, ensuring that the IT team is supporting overall company direction and growth  
  • Support IT resources on stakeholder and project management, with a special emphasis on collaboration, customer focus, delivery excellence, continuous improvement, negotiations and contracting
  • Support Software and Hardware Asset Management compliance
