Job Description

Summary

This position is responsible for identifying, developing and executing sourcing strategies specific to the Vendor Management Program for the most cost-effective pricing and best service; supporting and enhancing Vendor Management Program strategic processes; partnering with business owners to define specifications and requirements; managing Vendor Management Program initiatives for a specific group; a trusted advisor supporting and communicating program controls to address risk and compliance. This position is also responsible for and will support the management and governance of the Vendor Management Program by ensuring adherence to contractual terms and conditions. This position is accountable for managing and measuring KPIs, ensuring suppliers are delivering on business needs, driving supplier performance improvements and mitigating suppler risk. This position provides oversight and direction to external third-party suppliers to ensure adherence to client standards and requirements. The position will review a variety of deduction claims and provide actions to reduce claims including revising internal and external processes. This position may also be responsible for monitoring trends and industry's best practices and for proactively raising recommendations to improve value or business outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and oversee components of assigned Vendor Management Program services
  • Deliver efficient solutions that improve the performance of internal operations and external supplier relationships
  • Resolve operating issues related to process and systems continually mature processes over time
  • Proactively engages and consults with internal teams to identify, develop and execute Vendor Management strategies
  • Sets expectations and train internal personnel on client Vendor Management Program and Customer requirements
  • Identify opportunities to continuously educate seeking greater vendor understanding and vendor buy-in
  • Execute and create value and enhance value and savings
  • Acts as the liaison between the client and vendors; manage and coordinate interaction
  • Serve as a point of escalation for issues related to vendor performance
  • Ensure strong relationships are built with customers to influence effectively
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policy and procedures
  • Responsible for program reporting and supplier performance strategy and metrics
  • Report, respond to and resolve operating issues related to process and systems
  • Recommend process efficiency, tool enhancements and strive for continuous improvement external workforce service improvements
  • Significantly support Manager / Director in related Vendor Management Program activities and processes

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and focus on tasks in scope
  • Eager to learn, and are able to pick up new technologies and concepts quickly
  • Knowledgeable of Vendor Management best practices
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and oral
  • Self-sufficient on all projects, with minimal to no leadership direction
  • A fantastic positive attitude to want to help & support your team members and the organizations goals

Required Experience

  • 3 – 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in Procurement practices or vendor management
  • Problem solver who can drive and lead change
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Extensive experience in managing relationship with supply chain
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement for external labor program tools, process, procedures, etc.
  • Experience in project management and accounting- deduction principles.
  • Extensive Experience developing presentations and presenting to management and other internal groups.
  • Ability to lead projects without much leadership guidance
  • PC proficiency to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel up to 5%
