Job Title:         Supply Chain Manager

Status:            12 Month Contract

Location:        Sturtevant, Wisconsin

This twelve-month contract is for a great organization that is a global growth-stage medical device company. The organization is privately held, founded in 2004, and backed by top tier venture capital firms.

Job Description

The Supply Chain Manager coordinates and/or manages all aspects of the supply chain including Strategy, Planning, Sourcing / Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Delivery / Logistics and Returns (for defective or unwanted products). The Supply Chain Manager will:

  • Lead strategic Supply Chain Management initiatives or projects and be responsible for defining and those within assigned business units to ensure security and flexibility of supply critical to the product portfolio.
  • Implementation of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process and support after implementation (Demand and Supply).
  • Interact with many organizational teams such as Commercial, Operations, Regulatory, R&D, Quality, Sourcing, Procurement, and Logistics to support all business objectives.
  • This position will need to improve current business practices and develop strong working relationships with business partners to deliver organizational targets with a total cost management approach. The objective is to optimize the balance between supply availability, cost, inventory investment, and risk of obsolescence / backorder while working within the organization’s policies.
  • Be the voice of NA Supply Chain for the assigned business units.
  • Acts as a business liaison for Demand and Supply for all assigned regions globally.
  • Position must maintain a strong working relationship with all colleagues to insure that changes and activities are managed on a timely and cost effective basis.
  • Direct team to Maintain minimal to no backorders on all products released to market.
  • Responsible for the team who will review and convert the forecast into the BAI system making changes where necessary for the forecast that was downloaded.
  • Ensures alignment of forecast with global and regional business strategies.
  • Main point of contact for each product family or BU for the entire supply chain of that product including sites or CMO materials/planning groups and the internal team.
  • Responsible for team to lead product reviews based on ABC classification, in support of inventory target levels, service levels, and manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Prioritize demand and work with team to resolve when supply issues arise working with manufacturing, quality, regulatory, product managers and customer service, and others as needed.
  • Schedule and preside over monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to review with product managers the following: Forecast, Current inventory level, Future promotions, Related marketing materials.
  • Publish information gathered from these meetings to those who need to be aware of this information. Participates in Regional Demand Reviews and/or Inter-regional Supply Reviews.
  • Works closely with Director and BUs to leverage information sharing across organizations.
  • Ensure that suppliers are aligned with The Company’s business strategy and objectives.
  • Manage supplier relationships and understand their capabilities and capacities.
  • Drive continuous improvement and supplier development Ensure that Project/ Department milestones/ goals are met and that they adhere to approved budgets.
  • Minimize cost of organization's supply chain.
  • Make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and overall efficiency of operations Minimize shortages and contain costs Work with Product Management, Engineering and New Product Introduction process where applicable

Qualifications Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • Master’s Degree is preferred
  • Experience Required: 10 years: Supply Chain Management in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Preferred Proven ability to effectively interact with multi-functional areas (Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, etc.).
  • Significant experience in project management, cost accounting, e-business/e-procurement systems
