Job Description

Job Title: Supply Management Specialist II

Job Duties:

  • provide unit site lead support for the manufacturing facility in alignment with John Deere’s Indirect Material & Services (IM&S) supply management organization.
  • coordinating sourcing activities, Request For Quote, negotiations with suppliers, contract development and execution, work orders and change orders.
  • Deliver cost reduction results based on goals
  • Train and support stakeholders on critical IM&S systems (Purchase Order process, Source-to-Pay Tool, etc.)
  • Develop relationships with factory stakeholders.
  • Become the factory subject matter expert of the IM&S process.
  • Ensure or manage the development and implementation of enterprise/divisional strategies, defining and integrating supply chain directly impacting impact enterprise financial and operational objectives.
  • Utilize and develop continuous improvement in terms of performance and lowest total cost with the supply base utilizing the Achieving Excellence process/criteria and other appropriate supply management tools.

Specific Requirements

  • Project management experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP (or similar ERP systems).
  • Moderate to advanced Analytical skills.
  • Experience in specific areas of Supply Management / Procurement such as strategic sourcing process, supplier integration, strategic supply management, supplier development, module supply management, scheduling, cost reduction, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Supply Management processes and principles, specifically sourcing, contracting and negotiations.
  • Prior experience working in the manufacturing environment and/or ability to learn new processes quickly.
