Volt Workforce Solutions is hiring immediately for a Radar Systems Engineer in White Sands, NM

Must have a current US Secret security clearance

Our Client's Sensors & BMC3I team provides  support to radar systems in various locations both domestic and international and extensive travel will be required to support program requirements.   

Job Description:   

  • Perform systems engineering, software installation, test and validation, system interface, monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting, repair, modifications, and verification to ensure fully operational Radar equipment and system software performance.   
  • Provide immediate resolution of system problems/failures that occur during operations.Assist with data compilation and analysis, test setup and execution of all special tests and related data collection activities.   
  • Support test conductor in the development of special test scripts and test requirements.
  • Provide radar operations support with running system diagnostics and analysis of results.  Provide software and operations support in analog and digital simulations, live operations, system performance checks, and other system specifics as requested. 
  • Support a diverse team, internal/external customers and military personnel with technical system requirements. 
  • Travel up to 50% to domestic and international remote locations to support program requirements. 
  • Work in remote and hazardous locations exposed to energized equipment, radar radiation hazards, and unexploded ordnance.

Note: This position can be a Salary Grade G08 or Salary Grade G09 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

Required Education (including Major):  Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Software or related engineering discipline.

Basic Skills:   

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in technical engineering support of field operations working with radar system software and operations in assessing and correcting faulty equipment.  Experience with Radar X-Band hardware/software concepts, RF systems, troubleshooting, and reading/utilizing hardware schematics.Extensive experience with UNIX based OS platforms (Solaris, HP-UX, LINUX etc.)
  • Experience in maintaining and providing engineering assessment and corrective actions on faulted equipment, and installation and testing of engineering modifications/updates.Active Secret clearance or obtain interim within 30 days from date of hire.Security A+ certification

Desired Skills:   

  • Experience using design, debug, and test hardware/software.Knowledge of analog/digital hardware design.
  • Excellent teaming skills, ability to multi-task, ability to work under stress, able to support across multiple disciplines, and flexible to travel to support the radar.Familiarity with Network equipment configuration/setup (routers switches etc)
