VOLT is looking for a Network Administrator for our client in West Jordan, Utah to support and manage technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain and troubleshoot existing technologies in Windows environment, but do have some legacy Linux (RedHat and Ubuntu) servers.

This position is for a System Administrator to assist with day to day functions of a highly advanced measurement photo-cell cell. This is a completely custom, unique system.  1 cell is completely set up and operating and the 2nd cell is being built.  Cells consist of numerous cameras and projectors on walls and running back and forth on a mechanical trolley, and they are all hooked to a central server/server.  There is a custom software that runs it.  The person filling this role will need to be very versatile, be able to install software, troubleshoot hardware and software problems, and replace hardware with little documentation.  Hours may vary based on customer need but currently working 2nd shift (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm) with some overtime.   

Must have skills:

  • General mechanical and electrical aptitude
    • Work with some robotics and moving machines
    • Assembly of electronic packages
    • Work with cameras/projectors
    • Ability to follow processes and procedure
      • Documented and verbal
  • PC and software aptitude
    • Will be working with Windows based systems to complete daily automated tasks
    • Understanding of working with files in directories
    • Ability to use most Microsoft based programs
      • Excel, Outlook, CMD/DOS
    • Ability to navigate unique custom software with documentation
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
    • Hand tools power tools
    • Ladders
  • Willingness to learn and listen
    • Some programs are industry specific and can be taught
  • Preferred skills
    • Basic systems knowledge
      • Python, SQL, Powershell
    • Basic network knowledge
      • Understanding of Networks
        • Experience with CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6
        • Network Switches
        • Troubleshooting
        • Running cables
    • Basic CAD knowledge
      • This is directly related to industry related software and methods used for highly accurate measurements
