Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a System Administrator for our client in the Chanhassen MN area.  This is a 1+year contract, that could conceivably get extended or even go perm.

You will be expected to work independently and in a team to upgrade, test and deploy Windows 10 machines.

Key responsibilities

  • Install and configure Windows 10 on PCs used in manufacturing
  • Install, configure and validate station client applications
  • Create test and update application validation test plans
  • Troubleshoot PC, software and Windows related problems
  • Create and update software installation documentation
  • Coordinate and plan migration activities with manufacturing engineers
  • Maintain asset and project tracking sheets

Required qualifications

  • 2 or 4 year technical degree
  • Minimum 3 years Desktop Support experience
  • Ability to travel between sites
  • Experience with Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8 and/or Windows 10 Roll-Outs, Upgrades or Migrations
  • Experience with installing hardware and software patches, and updates, including device drivers
  • Advanced hands on experience and troubleshooting with: Microsoft Windows 10 desktop administration, installation, configuration, troubleshooting and performance analysis
  • Experience with Active Directory environments, configurations, authentication and authorization; general systems security and permissions required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and technical knowledge. 
  • Experience writing detailed test procedures and documents.
  • Ability to respond to technical inquiries or complaints from customers or consultants on a timely basis, with excellent customer service soft skills
