Job Description

Volt is seeking Systems Administrators with enterprise experience in WINTELL.  In this role the Sysadmin  will report directly to the Infrastructure Server Team Lead and will provide central accountability for all  Infrastructure Server Services which are those activities associated with the Project Design, Engineering, expansion and technical support of existing and future Windows-based physical and virtual system configurations and supporting systems Software (e.g., operating systems, utilities, databases, and middleware) necessary to deliver the required Services (e.g. hosting, web, messaging, remote access, security administration) to support customer’s business applications.  The position will have responsibility and central accountability of all computing services infrastructure hardware and software components and configurations supporting the central Orange County Data Center location.  The WINTEL Systems Administrator will be a technical resource providing infrastructure services which are those activities associated with the provisioning and management of the existing and future server environments using ITIL processes. The position is located in the Orange County Data Center in Santa Ana, California.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Provide  system administration services (e.g., Active Directory, Configuration and Performance Optimization, access controls, manage files, disk space, and manage requests for SAN and backup allocations) and technical support  (e.g., Level 2 support) for WINTEL/LINUX sub-tower required to deliver services and meet Service Level  Requirements (SLRs).
  • Provides onsite server technical support and IMAC services (install, move, add, change) support at contract designated Hosting sites (mainly in the Orange County Data Center) to deliver services and meet SLRs.
    • Implement, configure, manage and administer Active Directory (e.g., groups and domains, replication schedules, database corruption, inter-regional issues, DNS registration, LDAP, and IP address ranges) to deliver services and meet SLRs.
  • Provide system administration services support for the Enterprise Exchange and Server services infrastructure software and hardware components to meet COO customer requirements. 
  • Install , test, and provide technical support, administration and security administration for Remote Access Services (VPN, Terminal Services, MFA, etc) hardware and Software to deliver services and meet SLRs.
    • Provision, implement, configure, maintain and manage the EDI Services infrastructure (GlobalScape FTP servers) required to deliver services and meet SLRs.
  • Perform Messaging Services application upgrades (e.g., service packs, hot fixes, dot releases, virus protection, and spyware prevention) on all supported application components.
  • Install, configure, and support Web infrastructure components (e.g., hardened servers, middleware, SSL certificates).
  • Provide system administration services support for the Solarwinds ORION systems monitoring and reporting service infrastructure software and hardware components including ORION, Eyeshare, and associated interfaces.
  • Document and maintain in the Policies, Standards and Procedures Manual Data Center operational procedures for the Infrastructure Server System Administration services team.

TYPICAL EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree or equivalent and related technical training and/or certifications. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of an Associate’s degree.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 5+ years' experience providing infrastructure server system administration services.                                     
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Server 2008/2012/2016, certifications beneficial.                                                            
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010/2016, certifications beneficial.                                                                         
  • Proficiency in the planning, build, configuration and implementation of WINTEL servers.                                                                              
  • Proficiency in VMWare software and virtual infrastructure and server implementation, certifications beneficial.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft SCCM Management (Patch Deployments/Asset Management and Reporting).
  • IT Managed services experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Powershell (Active Directory/Exchange).
  • Proficiency in provisioning and support of Microsoft Cloud/Azure services (O365, Exchange, etc.).
  • Excellent Communication Skills – written and oral.
