Job Description

Volt is seeking a mid-level SharePoint / SQL Developer to support a major defense contractor in Fairfax, Virginia.  The Developer will:

• Administer the SQL and SharePoint environment and perform upgrades from current versions to SharePoint 2016

• Manage of associated services such as Office Online Services and MS Project

• Design and develop SharePoint site components

• Work with the IT team to develop wireframes, user journeys, and other descriptive artifacts to identify and confirm design requirements for site pages and navigation.

• Develop sites, master pages, style elements, and JavaScript as needed to realize an agreed on vision for the SharePoint user interactions and presentations.

• Develop workflows and approval processes within the SharePoint environment to support company business and communication processes.

• Work with the IT team to establish and document application development standards, processes, and approval workflows for continual update and ongoing maintenance of the SharePoint site.

• Partner with an IT project team and corporate leadership to understand requirements for web parts and application components for the SharePoint 2016 environment.

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain .NET web parts and application components in a SharePoint environment.

• Collaborate with Application Development staff to integrate custom-built web-applications into the SharePoint environment.

• Inventory, review and improve on Operations and Maintenance processes and artifacts.

• Assist in the architecture and engineering support of an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Operations and Maintenance

• Install, configure, maintain, upgrade and manage a SharePoint Server environment

• Configure SharePoint service applications such as search, metadata, user profiles, etc.

• Assignment of proper permission levels for all users of the site

• Analyze, resolve and/or escalate EDW-related tickets created by Tier 1 helpdesk technicians.

• Track and report daily, weekly, and monthly statistical metrics on EDW-related tickets.

• Support developers and testers with preparing production EDW deployments of DDL and DMLSQL.

• Execute prepared data movement PL/SQL, SQL scripts according to established operations checklists.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, identify alternative fixes, and communicate status of data movement, databases, ad-hoc reports, and dashoards for quality assurance.

Must currently possess a Secret security clearance

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

BS in Computer Science or related field, and a minimum of 8 years' relevant experience, or Masters’ degree. Additional years of experience, and/or relevant certifications will be considered in lieu of degree.

Required:

• 5+ years of experience in SharePoint development and administration

• 5+ years of experience using CSS, JavaScript/JQuery, HTML, C#, AJAX

• 2+ years of experience developing ASP.NET components, particularly for use in a SharePoint environment Desired:

• Experience administering, designing and developing with SharePoint 2016

• Experience administering, designing and developing with MS SQL 2014

• JSON/Angular/Bootstrap experience

• Ability to design, plan, document, and deliver implementations of SharePoint sites

• Ability to develop SharePoint sites, pages, security elements, and workflows

• Ability to develop ASP.NET web parts and application components and apply them in a SharePoint 2016 environment

• Thorough understanding of the capabilities and limitations of SharePoint, with expertise in applying that knowledge to real-world problems

• Expertise in managing and administering SharePoint servers and application

• Strong collaboration, communication and team engagement skills
