Systems Administrator

This is an estimated 12 month temporary position, in Lynnwood, WA and is offered through Volt Workforce Solutions. We are among the largest staffing companies in the US for contingent/temporary and direct hire placements, and support many of the top rated Pacific Northwest companies.

The Systems Administrator for Client Services is responsible for the installation, configuration, operation, security and maintenance of hardware and software company applications for clients including desktop hardware, applications, and supporting servers. The Systems Administrator for Client Services is responsible for a high level of customer support. Systems maintained by the Systems Administrator are considered critical to business operations and any issues within this environment may directly affect profitability for the company. The candidate will need to work independently, manage multiple priorities simultaneously and maintain a high level of communication with end users and/or management during project or problem resolution progression and contribute to the upgrading, planning and implementing of back office products, acting as a liaison with product teams, and internal customers, to define technical and operational requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that system hardware, network devices, operating systems and related procedures are in place and running for company infrastructure systems
  • Provide complex end user technical support including analysis, research and troubleshooting of technical issues with the ability to resolve problems quickly and provide recommendations for technical upgrades and changes to end user devices and systems
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex Windows 10/7 clients, firewalls and peripheral related issues revolving around both hardware and applications; including SCCM, Anti-Virus, and other desktop management tools; provides technical support for Active Directory, group policy, LDAP, WINS, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, Windows clients and SCCM in conjunction with Windows server team
  • Experienced with automation of tasks using a combination of scripting and configuration management systems (SCCM) for Desktop Configuration Management
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise with Group Policy enforced configurations
  • Support the implementation of Microsoft Back Office solutions including, but not limited to, Active Directory (Active Roles), Exchange Server, Office 365, SCCM, SafeNet, as well as maintaining the necessary as-built and operational documentation
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance client services and efficiency
  • Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion
  • Follow established standards and procedures for maintaining the systems configurations, troubleshooting, security, and resource monitoring of the engineering infrastructure

  • Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in an IT System Administrator role
  • 3+ years of systems administration of client operating systems experience
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2008,. 2012, 2016, Windows XP/7/10, MS Office, Office 365, Windows, Server/Desktop Platforms, Switches, Routers, AD, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP, NFS, VPN, LDAP
  • Solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts;
  • Understanding of principles of Network routing, client/server configuration
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
  • MCSA Windows 10
  • Network +, ITIL
