Job Description

Volt is seeking a Systems Engineer I or II for our Client to support radar systems in various locations both domestic and international. This position will be located at WSMR, NM and Ft Bliss, TX

Job Description: 

  • Perform systems engineering, software installation, test and validation, system interface, monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting, repair, modifications, and verification to ensure fully operational Radar equipment and system software performance.
  • Provide immediate resolution of system problems/failures that occur during operations.
  • Assist with data compilation and analysis, test setup and execution of all special tests and related data collection activities.
  • Support test conductor in the development of special test scripts and test requirements.
  • Provide radar operations support with running system diagnostics and analysis of results.
  • Provide software and operations support in analog and digital simulations, live operations, system performance checks, and other system specifics as requested.
  • Travel up to 50% to domestic and international remote locations to support program requirements.
  • Work in remote and hazardous locations exposed to energized equipment, radar radiation hazards, and unexploded ordnance.

Required Skills: 

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in technical engineering support of field operations working with radar system software and operations in assessing and correcting faulty equipment.
  • Experience with Radar X-Band hardware/software concepts, RF systems, troubleshooting, and reading/utilizing hardware schematics.
  • Extensive experience with UNIX based OS platforms (Solaris, HP-UX, LINUX etc.)
  • Experience in maintaining and providing engineering assessment and corrective actions on faulted equipment, and installation and testing of engineering modifications/updates.
  • Active Secret clearance or obtain interim within 30 days from date of hire.
  • Security A+ certification

Desired Skills: 

  • Experience using design, debug, and test hardware/software.
  • Knowledge of analog/digital hardware design.
  • Excellent teaming skills, ability to multi-task, ability to work under stress, able to support across multiple disciplines, and flexible to travel to support the radar.
  • Familiarity with Network equipment configuration/setup (routers switches etc)

Required Education (including Major): 

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Software or related engineering discipline
