Systems Engineer II   12-month contract - Indianapolis

Volt Workforce Solutions is looking for a Systems Engineer II for a 12-month contract with our client located in Indianapolis.  Our client is a technology and innovation leader specializing in defense, civil government and cybersecurity solutions.

This role with support Software Sustainment Activity team including the development of new avionics architecture and the development of proposals. The Systems Engineer position involves working in a team environment providing technical expertise for avionics integration and supporting improvements and upgrades to the platform.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Support development of new architecture for the platform.
• Help develop roadmaps for added platform capability.
• Support strategies to improve the aircraft’s overall operation.
• Support the writing of white papers and concept development and develop and write proposals and
ROMs.

Requirements:
• 2 years industry experience plus Bachelors of Science in an Engineering Field such as Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

• Embedded software development background with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) preferred Experienced cybersecurity practitioner in an embedded computing environment preferred
• ARINC-661 and DO-254 experience desired
• Background in Ethernet and MIL-STD-1553
• Background in safety critical aviation infrastructure
• Ethernet network design, development and implementation.
• Implementation and configuration experience with routers, switches and infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate across an IPT, with customers and with other program teammates.
• Systems Engineering process and discipline knowledge and experience in application of such to
both software and avionics development and integration.
• Ability to work with multiple organizations and to work complex and sophisticated issues.
• Experience in defense related systems engineering
• Experience in communicating and presenting to customers and management.
• Experience in participating in systems engineering teams in avionics development.
• A background in Systems Engineering including MBSE, Systems Requirements, Systems Development,
and Integration and Testing is desirable.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Clearance Requirements: Ability to obtain a secret level security clearance is required.
