Volt is looking for a Systems Engineer for our client in Cranford, NJ

Job Description

Responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization's systems infrastructure. Includes the implementation and design of hardware and software. Monitors the performance of systems. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. 

Primary Responsibilities:*

Design/implement customer and internal projects including but not limited to network configuration, client/server setup, hardware configuration, and software implementation/upgrade/security/audit. Provide technical support for Maintech engineers servicing clients. Provide direct remote and onsite customer hardware, desktop and network support. Participate in presales meetings with account reps and customers. Collaborate with sales for developing materials for client presentations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide Tier-3 troubleshooting support, working with the user support team and the operations staff to effectively manage and monitor all systems.
• Manage and maintain Active Directory Environment
• Manage and maintain Hyper-V and/or VMware
• Manage and maintain and Maintain Exchange 2010+ / Office 365
• Manage and maintain System Center Configuration Manager 2012+
• Must be able to work and multi-task in a rapid paced 7/24/365 critical customer support environment
• Must be able to work independently
• Working knowledge of Mobile Device Management systems such as AirWatch and InTune
• Working knowledge of System Center Operations Manager and Service Manager is a plus
• Additional skill sets such as SQL Administration and Azure a plus
• Stay current with system information, changes and updates
• Work with subject matter experts on server and software projects to improve the end user experience.
• Ability to travel onsite to customer locations as needed
• Other such duties as required 

Qualifications:*

H. S. diploma. B. S. computer science or related experience 5 – 7 years experience in advanced technical support for Microsoft, Novell, Citrix, UNIX, Wintel and/or Cisco environments. 1+ years experience as a technical project lead in a computer environment. 

Related Skills and Competencies:*

Project-management skills coupled with ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Strong verbal and written, organizational, and communication skills for customer interface and documentation. Time-management skills with ability to multi-task. Ability to accommodate work schedule changes.
