Volt is currently looking for a Technical Editor in Austin, TX. Volt's Client is an American multinational technology company that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services.Job Summary

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work closely with internal technical writers to edit procedural content for contact center advisors. You will work on documentation projects from simple to complex in this role.  As a Technical Editor, you ensure that procedures are grammatically correct, readable, accurate, ready for publication, and reflect the style and voice of our team members. You will need to make decisions within short time-frames and with limited information, so good judgement and attention to detail are required for success.

Key Qualifications

  • Review and revise procedural content for accuracy and quality, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax
  • Able to edit technical procedures to improve readability
  • Able to edit procedures to prepare them for localization/translation into multiple languages
  • Able to edit content based on Web Content Accessibility Guidelines  2.0 (WCAG 2.0)
  • Communicate and work with production team to ensure that content is published in a timely manner
  • Ensure correct tone, voice, clarity, flow, and structure of content
  • Ensure that content adheres to the in-house style guide
  • Compile and update style guides as required
  • Collaborate with the team to come up with fresh and creative ideas, keeping audience in mind
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines
  • Able to express ideas clearly and diplomatically
  • Able to juggle multiple projects on tight timelines
  • Able to maintain confidentiality around business projects
  • Maintain an open, collaborative attitude while engaging with colleagues and business partners
  • Experience with HTML and CSS is preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager or other content management systems is preferred
  • Current or previous experience with Customer Contact Centers is preferred
  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is preferred


  • Bachelors degree in a related field and 4+ years relevant work experience
  • 2+ years in a role as an editor is preferred
