Job Description

VOLT is seeking candidates for “Technical Support 1” role for our client in Colorado Springs for a contingent role of 6 months. This candidate will offer strategic technical support to assure the highest level of customer satisfaction. Resolve post sales non-technical customer inquiries via phone and electronic means, as well as, technical questions regarding the use of and troubleshooting for Client’s Electronic Support Services.


  • As a member of the Support organization, your focus is to deliver post-sales support and solutions to our customer base
  • Serve as an advocate for customer needs
  • A primary focus is to create/utilize automated technology and instrumentation to diagnose, document, and resolve/avoid customer issues
  • Be an expert member of the technical problem solving/problem avoidance team, routinely sought after to address extremely complex, critical customer issues
  • Provide services by frequent on-site customer visits
  • Able to work in non-routine and very complex environment involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization
  • Flexibility to work on weekend on rotation basis using Support tools (MOS)


  • Knowledge of technologies primarily Database background
  • RAC/GRID Control knowledge is essential (install, upgrade, tuning)
  • Able to demonstrate configuration and installation of E-Biz suite as applications DBA
  • Administer product set and comfortable with installation, configuration and cloning of applications on engineered systems (Exadata, Exalogc or Exalytics)
  • Advanced Performance tuning, migration and upgrade of databases
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERP implementation
  • Can demonstrate advanced product knowledge by building and showcasing best practices
  • Understands the different levels of logging/setup and can analyze them
  • Understand RAC interfaces with Applications
  • Present routine training classes to support staff and to customers as needed
  • Demonstrates Beginner Level in at least 1 cross-functional products and components
  • Can support and troubleshoot advanced configurations
  • Perform/build 2 brown bag classes for support per year
  • Leads a team for Assessments, proof of concepts projects


  • Background with Exadata or Big data appliance
  • Knowledge of any technologies - WebLogic or middletier will be a plus as this resource will get a chance to work on ExaCC and BDCC
  • 11g or above OCP certification
  • Oracle Exadata or Infra OCA certification
  • Oracle applications DBA skills


  • 7 years’ experience with Core products or eight years’ experience with Applications products
  • BS Computer Science/Management Information Systems/Science/ Engineering/Math/Physics/Chemistry with 3.0 GPA
  • Proven professional/ technical experience, i.e demonstrating an understanding of Applications at a functional and technical level (preferably Oracle)
  • Local to Colorado Springs
