Job Description

Volt has an immediate opening for CAD Designer for our client located in the Greeley, CO area.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Use Solidworks to create detailed 2D or 3D designs using GD&T knowledge, experience with product data management systems a plus

• Knowledge of industry (preferred), manufacturing processes, engineering, math, and materials 

• Assist team in CAD drawing and 3D designing tasks 

• Make corrections to drawings as requested by Engineering Team 

• Develops and maintains product and process design data 

• Update and organize current database of design records 

• Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to investigate and resolve problems with new and/or existing designs 

• Participate in engineering and manufacturing design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations 

• Investigate and correct large BOM variances and discrepancies

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related activities as needed 

• Supports lean manufacturing practices and principles (e.g.5S, Kanban, Kaizen, visual management, value-stream mapping,etc.) to reduce waste.

Skills and Educational Requirements:

• Highly proficient with Solidworks or other solid model CAD software 

• Experience with tooling, fixturing, and rubber compression mold design a plus 

• Experience using AutoCAD and ability to convert to 3D models a plus 

• Self-starter and quick learner that can handle multiple tasks/projects with excellent results 

• Strong mechanical aptitude to understand customer's products and relevant manufacturing technologies.

• Ability to use MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to good effect 

• Excellent oral and written communication skills 

• Ability to build and maintain relationships, both internally and externally, based upon trust, confidence, and personal rapport 

• Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in work performed 

• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills 

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools a plus 

• Must be an individual of high integrity and ethics  

• Must display a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and sense of urgency 

• Must be able to work from the Greeley, CO headquarters as needed with the opportunity to telework
