Test Automation Engineer in Moline, IL at Volt

Volt is seeking an experienced Test Automation Engineer to work onsite at our client, John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG), located in Moline, IL.  John Deere ISG is responsible for writing software for technology solutions for a global fleet of John Deere vehicles. This position will be responsible for creating automated test scripts to efficiently verify the function of this software based on test plans. A successful candidate will be able to innovate in the test automation space to determine new methods to effectively verify software in a reliable automated way.

Required Skills:

• Experience with scripting languages (i.e. Python)
• Experience with Embedded software development (Embedded C, MBSD)
• Experience integrating tests with build systems (i.e. Jenkins)
• Experience with testing on Hardware-in-loop (HIL) and Software-in-Loop (virtual / SIL) test infrastructure
• Knowledge and experience with complex technical electrical, mechanical and/or software systems, including ability to triage issues when found
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with developers and testers for feature development and defect resolution
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others
• Agile development understanding
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to work independently

Desired Skills:

• Understanding of SAE J1939 (CAN Communication) protocol
• Experience in software testing tools and processes (ASTQB training)
• Agile development experience – Close daily interaction between dev and test
• Experience with Test Driven Development practices
• Knowledge of agriculture practices

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
