Job Description

Volt has an opportunity for a TEST ENGINEER for our client in ATLANTA GA.

Volt's Client is an American healthcare company that has a broad range of branded generic pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, and nutrition products.

Test Engineer to design, develop, qualify, implement and maintain Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and software to produce medical devices. This position requires application of engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation and solution of technical problems and use of technical judgment in planning, organizing, performing, coordinating and/or directing engineering work. This position requires periodically working in a class 5 and class 7 clean room environment as needed.

Job Duties:

  • Develop and maintain ATE and software for production, throughout lifecycle.
  • Generates software and hardware requirements.
  • Performs software and hardware documentation and validation (e.g.  equipment specification, software requirements, test protocols, design, testing, installation qualifications and test method validation) as required.
  • Generates detailed project plans and timelines.
  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. 
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.


  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other applicable field of study.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience programming in a work environment.
  • Experience in LabVIEW, or “C", or VBA (or other scripting languages) preferred.
  • Experience programming measurement equipment.
  • Experience in software/hardware documentation and validation (e.g. software requirements, test plans, etc.).
  • Experience in medical device or another regulated environment preferred.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
