Test Engineer 

This manufacturing company located in Totem Lake, WA which is a privately held company founded in 1984 and provides end to end electronic manufacturing services including Design, Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA), complete Box Builds, final System Integration and Test is seeking a Test Engineer for a full-time, direct opportunity.

In this fast paced environment with a focus on continuous improvement and professional development, our employees have the opportunity to work on creative, challenging products and projects while growing their career. The Test Engineer is responsible for developing product tests and test equipment to meet customer requirements and support production. The Test Engineer’s essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Developing and sustaining automated and manual test equipment.

Develop and execute validation protocols and procedures. Develop and train on preventative maintenance procedures. Support new product introduction and production trials for identification and resolution of quality issues. Drive continuous improvement and support all aspects of test requirements for customer. Improve existing processes, testing and otherwise, using Lean Six Sigma methodologies such as design of experiments. Conduct and contribute to analyses and experiments and document in formal technical reports. Review and act upon test data - respond immediately to resolve high failure rates, modify equipment and procedures to make improvements, review test yield reports and perform test and/or manufacturing improvement actions, analyze closed work orders for performance to standard. Support Test Technicians and Test Operators - resolve test equipment issues, explain circuit operation and help with troubleshooting, direct and perform troubleshooting investigations to solve test and production problems.

Utilize analyses to create direction for product, manufacturing process, and test changes. Develop and maintain test procedures and work instructions. Direct or perform equipment repair. New equipment setup and performance checks. Work within the team to recommend product design changes for DFT and DFM, demonstrate tests for customer, provide technical expertise. Prepare and maintain test area time standards. Specify and purchase test equipment, tools, and supplies. Other duties assigned

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least three years of progressive experience as a Test Engineer and come from an electrical engineering background. Electronics manufacturing and quality assurance experience is a huge plus.

The candidate must have developed custom test equipment. Should have validation experience. Be familiar with IQ, OQ, and PQ. Should have Gage R&R experience. Optical and/or laser a plus. Tremendous communication skills and a desire to work with people who are passionate about quality. Must be able to analyze, troubleshoot and repair electronics circuits. Experience with Flying Probe and ICT (in circuit testing) a plus. Experience developing code for automated test (Python, Lab View, C# desired). Electronic design knowledge Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma preferred. Strong working knowledge in MS Office Suite (Advanced Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc). Able to demonstrate proven experience as a strong team player with multiple organizations.

Must have excellent written and oral communication skills (including the ability to write reports, business correspondence, policies and procedure manuals – if applicable). Ability to communicate effectively in front of groups of customers or employees or the organization. Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Be flexible, adaptable, able and willing to modify activities and direction with an ever-changing business environment. Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic. Possess a professional attitude and promote the same in others.
