Job Description

VOLT is seeking candidates for “Test Engineer” role with our client in Tualatin, Oregon. It is a contingent role of 12 months. A person in this role will have passion for testing and test automation in the context of a whole-system environment and work closely with Core Development Teams to improve code quality, increase test coverage. You will be part of an agile team implementing innovative test solutions for embedded living space and plant room solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, and maintain automation scripts, tools, and test cases using Python.
  • Specify and design test fixtures necessary to perform test automation.
  • Create, execute, and maintain test plans to verify and validate new product designs.
  • Document and analyze test results to provide necessary feedback to the development team and ensure thorough unit and hardware tests are conducted.
  • Regularly perform manual, sanity, smoke, regression, and other tests with an eye to automating as much as possible.
  • Participate in agile planning events including Scrums, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Work closely with other test leads / managers / architects & design teams, gather requirements, prioritize automation efforts & deliver business value
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge on functional and system level testing domain.
  • Willingness to gain hands-on experience with the products/systems/domain while working on test projects.
  • Typical job tasks are focused on testing firmware, hardware, general features, overall functionalities of the product.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable programming skills and previous experience of test development using Python.
  • Strong background and understanding of electric circuit fundamentals.
  • Able to read and create electronic schematic diagrams to understand production functionality and create test fixtures/jigs necessary to test embedded hardware.
  • Should be able to handle and programmatically interface (using Python) to test equipment – Oscilloscope, AC/DC power sources, multi-meters, network devices, PLCs/DAQ systems etc.
  • A professional, proactive attitude with good interpersonal skills
  • Be a result-oriented team player. Leader & self-motivated
  • Good at oral & written communication in English
  • Preferred working experience with Electrical / Electronic / similar products or tester lines a strong plus.
  • EE Engineer or CS with 3-5 years of relevant experience
