Job Description

Established Manufacture and leader in the Aerospace industry is seeking a skilled TOOL CRIB Associate to join their team.

Position Summary:

Level Two: Oversees and organizes the entire tool room and its functions with little supervision. Technician is responsible for preparing tooling, tool kits, and consumables for the shop floor. Can also perform tool presetting procedures and other task for CNC lathes and mills. Has intermediate knowledge of tool geometry, tooling specs, blueprint reading, gauges and metrology equipment.

In addition, performs basic tool crib functions such as maintaining inventory logs for worn out tooling and manages inventory levels through Kanban and min-max systems. Capable of researching machine information and tool specs as needed. Manages general tooling, including chucks, holders and jaws. Capable of leading in a fast paced manufacturing production environment that is driven by accountability and metrics. Is familiar with managing cost, daily spend, and looks for solutions to drive cost control and standardizes tooling when applicable.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction
  • Manages the tool room and orders and maintains the inventory of consumable items and safety equipment supplies.
  • Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
  • Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear and reports damage to supervisors.
  • Repairs, services, and lubricates tools and equipment.
  • Marks and identifies tools and equipment.
  • Presets the correct tools and supplies and issues them to the CNC manufacturing cell
  • Manages worn tools in the manufacturing areas
  • Lead process and tooling improvement projects

Required Skills:

  • The ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to identify worn out and/or dull tools
  • Ability to gather tooling usage data
  • Intermediate Computer Skills
  • Basic shop math and intermediate knowledge of tool geometry
  • Highly organized and disciplined
  • Ability to use basic computer skills and Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience with Lean and 6S concepts preferred

Required Experience:

  • Typically 2-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment

Level of Education:

  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
