We are looking to hire a QC Inspection Technician –  in Tooling/Gage Calibration for our client in the Aerospace Industry in Oakville, ON for approximately a 5 months’ contract for a Day shift (Mon-Fri 7am-3pm EST), with the possibility of extension.

Job Description Summary:

Summary:

In this position, you will be reporting to the Supervisor, Quality Control. As the Inspection Technician – Tooling/Gage Calibration, you will be responsible for the inspection/verification of tooling and calibration of gages.

Primary responsibilities:

• Responsible for the periodic inspection/verification of tooling and metrological gage calibration.
• Evaluate tooling’s per the drawings for acceptance.
• Review new tool drawings, inspect receiving tools/gages and register in GAGEPACK
• Assign verification/calibration frequency for tools and gages
• Carve tool numbers and inspection dates
• Report tooling/gage non-conformances per internal procedure
• Maintain master gages for tooling and calibration
• Complete/close all the related documents including GAGEPACK after inspection/calibration.
• Review suppliers tooling report and gage calibration certificates for acceptance
• Maintain tool and gage database by GAGEPACK.
• Able to work under minimum supervision in a team environment is essential.
• Work safely with heavy parts.
• Apply 5S workplace organization and Continuous Improvement.
• Must possess good organizational and decision making skills to ensure completion of documentation and computerized tasks.
• Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CGD with no restrictions.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications, including CATIA models
Competency and understanding of GD&T
• Experienced in Measurement System Analysis (i.e. gauge R&R)
• Able to prepare reports on discrepancies in detail.
• Fully competent in the use of tools and gauges to inspect and calibrate
• Knowledge of calibration ISO 17025, ISO 10012 requirements, and general inspection practices.
• Must be comfortable in a fast paced work environment and possess good interpersonal skills.
• Familiar with office computer programs (MS Word, Excel) and SAP, GAGEPACK
Able to take photos and edit it digitally.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement and standard work methodologies are required competencies.
• Knowledge of quality audit experience preferred.
• Will be required to work independently and with minimal supervision to complete tasks.
