Job Description

Our client is looking for a Hands on Training/Production Supervisor that comes with expertise in creating and implementing SOP's across a large diverse production/manufacturing facility! 

Bilingual is preferred (Spanish) but not required.

Training Production Supervisor  will train employees to improve safety, quality, and productivity through the development or modification and implementation of documented procedures, trainings, and practices.

  • This position will analyze and communicate root causes for down time, and quality and safety deviations.
  • They will also be responsible for the accurate and timely collection of data and the communication of information to facilitate improvement in the areas of Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
  • As well as, planning, organizing and controlling daily production to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, safely, on time, and in accordance with quality requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implements production plans to ensure customer satisfaction and product quality.
  • Provide oversight for all production lines to ensure that production targets and standards are met Top of Form.
  • Effectively use Redzone to track and report Production Line performance
  • Develop and maintain procedures to create a “Right the First Time” process on each production line with an emphasis on safety and quality.
  • Facilitate teams that are focused on identifying areas of opportunity, developing strategy for improvement and measurement of results.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and training to support the use of continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
  • Create reports using relevant software to document KPI’s and plant performance relative to goals and objectives, and work with each department to develop corresponding actions to improve plant performance.
  • Lead 5s events to improve existing processes for the creation of Best Practices.
  • Lead teams to create systemic processes to reduce waste materials and labor.
  • Lead the training program for all hourly production employees, the development of internal trainers, the writing and maintenance of all production SOP’s, and development and maintenance of a documented program to measure the progress of all employees training on an ongoing process.
  • Develop and analyze financial gains/losses corresponding to relative actions in plant operations

Desired qualifications:

  • Effective business writing for the creation of reports, company memos and electronic correspondence, and employee communication
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English; Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Intermediate level skill with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office or similar software.
  • Basic knowledge of ERP and MRP software systems
  • Able to speak effectively in both one-on-one and in front of large groups
  • Able to communicate with and work cooperatively with one or more departments in order to achieve mutual goals
  • Ability to lead teams using lean methodologies to solve problems

Desired requirements: 

  • Bachelor/Technical degree - Business Administration and or Engineering preferred or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • 3+ years of operations/engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Cross functional operational experience with a strong understanding of various manufacturing functions.
  • 3+ years of experience in supervising other employees.
  • Demonstrated experience with introducing and implementing new techniques (i.e. agent of change)
  • Working knowledge of lean concepts such as Kaizen, SMED, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
  • Bilingual; English and Spanish highly desirable.  French a plus.
