Volt Workforce Solutions is hiring immediately for a UAV Hardware Engineer at SPAWAR in San Diego CA

Must have a current US Secret security clearance.  This is a 6 month, temp to perm. contract position with our client.  

What the candidate will do is to take UAV platforms and they integrate sensors and surveillance equipment into those sensors.  Then it’s provided to users.  This position would want to help design new cable assemblies, circuit cords, etc.  They would also help implement them.  There is a lot of assembly hands-on work, design work, and testing. 

JOB DESCRIPTION: This family is responsible for performing design and development engineering assignments related to hardware products and systems including development of new products and/or updates to existing products. Work may encompass one or several areas of engineering including electronic design, mechanical design, reliability engineering or other related fields. Duties may include research, evaluation, development, and application of new processes and methods into products. May be responsible for establishing and conducting testing routines; developing or executing project plans, budgets, and schedules, and documentation of work and results. (It should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content. Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee.)

SCOPE: Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and process to meet goals outlines. Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting objectives.

PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

IMPACT: Contributes to the development of organization's goals and objectives. Decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules. LIAISON: Frequently interacts with outside customers and functional peer groups. Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules, etc.

FREEDOM TO ACT: Works under limited direction. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. May provide guidance to other personnel.

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT: KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Involves comprehensive knowledge of this administrative field and the ability to complete difficult and complex assignments. Analytical, communication and presentations skills needed as well as the ability to operate independently.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in related field and 3+ years related experience.
