Job Description

  • Vehicle Integration & Validation Engineer – Propulsion Integration

This Vehicle Integration Engineer will develop and validate functional objectives for the propulsion systems including vehicle level functional safety on the Karma Automotive line of products.  This engineer should have experience in powertrain and vehicle integration with good root cause problem solving capabilities.

This engineer will develop and validate the Functional Objectives of these and other P/T and Functional Safety based concerns.

Tasks:

  • Create and maintain technical specifications for vehicle propulsion.
  • Lead regular Vehicle Integration reviews with the broader team to develop and achieve all propulsion targets.
  • Develop and execute testing and validation of the powertrain and propulsion systems with documentation via DVP&R
  • Meet all performance, packaging, cost and timing objectives.
  • Lead, or support as required, any required root cause and problem solving initiatives to keep the fleet of vehicles running
  • Other deliverables as defined by manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering team for development and achievement of functional objectives for a new program and execution of current program
  • Lead virtual and physical validation efforts for both the Design Verification and Process Verification phases of the program
  • Act as technical lead within Vehicle Integration for propulsion systems
  • Manage P/T team proactively, with focused program management mind-set.   Lead project from start to finish.
  • Support development / testing strategy and timing plan to ensure compatibility with overall program; monitor resources as required to minimize risks; support alternate plans as required.
  • Ensure system meets certification requirements.  Support with data & testing as required.
  • Support prototype and production assembly events at domestic or international locations.

Qualifications

  • BS Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years’ experience
  • Prior experience with evaluation of automobiles
