This is an estimated 1 year- long term Contingent/Temporary position in Spokane, WA and offered through Volt Technical Resources. Are you a Systems Engineer with extensive VMWare and Cloud Deployment experience? We are looking for a hands-on Engineer to join our client’s growing and impactful team. You will be responsible for implementing and managing customer-facing infrastructure in a dynamic, high-performance environment that impacts the daily lives of hundreds of thousands of customers a day.  In this role, you will work collaboratively with architects, infrastructure engineers, applications teams and many others in helping to deploy technology solutions across the enterprise

Job description:

This position will be responsible for evaluating, designing, and implementing VMware focused technologies and services while working with other system engineers and project team members (Server, Client, Network, Communication, and Application) to create a secure and reliable environment. The selected candidate will also be responsible for advanced Group Policy and Active Director (AD) duties.

The ideal candidate will have a technical background in VMwareSystem Design and Administration in large enterprise environments.


  • Expert hands on administration experience with VMware (ESX, ESXi/vSphere, vCenter, vMotion, DRS) and other virtualization technologies and concepts
  • Expert experience designing, deploying, supporting, and trouble-shooting VMware in large enterprise environment
  • Experience with capacity planning and sizing large global VMware environments
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008R2/2012R2 and Linux Server environments
  • Experience configuring and deploying various server platforms
  • Strong experience with design, development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale systems, preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms
  • Exchange Server 2007/2010/2013 (or enterprise mail systems)
  • Active Directory, Group Policy
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM 2012 R2)
  • Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems (7 & 10)
  • Experience with Cloud services (Azure or AWS) is a plus
  • Experience setting up Dev/Test environments in the Cloud for remote development teams
  • Experience Integrating Active Directory with Cloud services via PowerShell or SAML (Implement single-sign-on and account provisioning for disparate systems)
  • Experience with LAN and WAN technology and firewalls (Cisco/McAfee)
  • Experience with Nutanix (Data Center / Hybrid Cloud Solution)
  • Experience with SAN – specifically NetApp
  • Netscaler Access Gateway and Netscaler Branch Repeater administration, configuration, support, and setup
  • Solid understanding of essential TCP/IP protocols: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP, and understanding of wider set protocols.
  • Extensive experience in performance tuning and optimizing computing platforms.
