Job Description

Job Title: General Warehouse Labor

Reports to: Assistant Warehouse Manager

Classification: Non-Exempt

Hours: The hours vary depending on business needs but are tentatively from 5PM – 2AM. However, employees may be required to work after hours and on weekends with little or no advance notice. Schedules may change at any time depending on business needs. Candidate must be reliable and be able to adapt to changing workflow demands due to production.

Job Purpose:

Candidates must be able to adhere to existing procedures in the physical installation of rack equipment into ocean containers utilizing safe practices. Adhere to current and future company policies so as to prevent any damages to vehicles during the initial shipping process from factory to container.  Develop and continue to grow knowledge of prepping procedures to support and strengthen customer relationships, product safety, personnel safety and careful handling.  The incumbent will be knowledgeable of department goals, procedures, and policies.  The employee will need to have ability to work in a team, pay attention to detail, thoroughly follow instructions, and focus on both quality and quantity to meet department goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Move equipment from line to shipping container 
  • Install, test, and ensure functionality of racking equipment
  • Install straps, braces, and padding to loads in order to prevent shifting or damage during shipment
  • Prepare and inventory all shipping materials for daily inventory control reporting and future shipment usage
  • Route goods to appropriate storage areas or departments, using forklifts, hand trucks, or other lifting equipment 
  • Carry out the methods to support existing procedures and prevent physical injury and/or damages to vehicles during the loading process
  • Work effectively and efficiently in a team environment 
  • Complete all work in an efficient and timely manner
  • Maintain the work areas in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Follow all current/future company policies and procedures
  • Adhere to safety practices at all times
  • Help in other areas as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
  • Ability to climb stairs and ramps
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 20 pounds directly over your head while standing
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, talk, hear and have a good vision
  • Ability to work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
  • Have the ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support repetitive or continuous movements
  • Have the ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time and repeatedly lift racks
  • The ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry object
